Anson Community Shop

Rusholme’s Anson Community Shop is a community outreach initiative designed to offer members healthy food within their budget.

How it works

The not-for-profit shop is a warm and welcoming place where people from the local community can buy £12.00 worth of food for £2.50.

Local businesses donate food and supplies to the Anson Community Shop in order to help care for the local community, which becomes available to buy for local members who sign up. There they can purchase groceries like cereal, pasta, bread and all the necessities included in a weekly shop.

Sammy, the lovely  volunteer co-ordinator, sparks a lively passion for community outreach and Sheridan Lifts have been invited by One Manchester to share in that passion.

Winter Warmer Project

One Manchester have launched the Winter Warmer project – providing warm and cosy packs available in the community shops. Staying warm in winter is of paramount importance for everyone, so we have donated some items for the packs in order for every member of the community to access warmth this winter. Sheridan Lifts have donated:

  • 20 x Blankets
  • 20 x Fleeces
  • 20 x Thermos flasks
  • 20 x Gloves

Often overlooked, these key items can have an overwhelming impact on our quality of life and health. We are delighted that Winter Warmer packs are made available local residents in need of extra support over the festive period.

Spreading cheer!

Sheridan lifts have been thrilled to be able contribute to this project which has such a positive impact on local residents in local areas.

For those of you who know us at Sheridan Lifts, you’ll know it is very close to our hearts to be able to give back to our local community. We are delighted to have had the opportunity to meet the volunteers of the community shop and speak face to face with the people whose lives are positively impacted by their outstanding work!

If you would like us to get involved with your team, charity or community outreach project please contact us using the “leave a message” facility on our website or call us on 0161 203 6299! We’d love to hear from you!
