Space Invaders

We have all encountered them. Those annoying types who read over your shoulder as soon as you start to read the paper; people who take up all of the elbow space when you are at the cinema; individuals putting their feet up on the back of your seat when you are on the bus; ‘space invaders’ seem to be taking over the world! There are forums set up all round the ‘net on this contentious subject matter, mainly asking how you address the problem without causing major offence to those who are the object of your discomfort. Do you turn around and ask that surly teen to stop drumming their feet on your seat? Should you subtly move that pesky elbow out of the way and place your arm there instead? Would you either roll your broadsheet up neatly and place it back in your briefcase or just lower it a fraction so nosey parkers cannot get a look in? It seems like an easy decision to make, in all honesty, but you are afraid to speak up and act on your instincts as you do not want to be met with a tirade of abuse from disgruntled individuals.

The same level of consideration can be applied to the conduct of people when travelling in an elevator. No one wants to be packed in like sardines when there is ample room for movement, nor do they want to be squashed in a corner by someone’s huge rucksack when it can quite comfortably be placed on the floor. If you complain then you can often be met by dagger-like stares and feel like you are moaning unnecessarily, which is absolutely not the case. It comes as a welcome relief when lift repairs have been made as you have been waiting for weeks to have a break from the stairs, but then you have to put up with the fact that space invaders will no doubt be in the vicinity as soon as the elevator is restored back to its original state. Unfortunately, Sheridan Lifts cannot help you with this dilemma, unfortunately, but what we can promise is that lift repairs are speedy and efficient, and can be tailored to your exact specifications.

We have been furnishing established and reputable organisations with top of the range lift maintenance and installation services for well over 30 years now, and our level of expertise knows no bounds. Lift maintenance has to be carried out on a regular basis, as frequent checks need to be made if you are to guarantee safe travel to and from the workplace, especially if your office is located on floor which is difficult to reach on foot. There have been instances when people have had to scale numerous steps to reach their destination due to the elevator being out of bounds for the foreseeable future, and arrive at a meeting bedraggled and exhausted. Commercial and residential buildings can benefit from lift installation solutions courtesy of Sheridan Lifts, as we are the go-to place for the finest lift servicing packages on the market. If you have any further queries then please do not hesitate to get in touch with us on 0161 203 6299 and we will be happy to discuss things in further detail.
