We hope you all managed to watch last night’s episode of DIY SOS which showed the work that has been done to create a community for veterans here in Manchester. As you’re all well aware, Sheridan Lifts was the chosen lift company to install one of our platform lifts for a triple-amputee veteran.

We thought we’d take this opportunity to give you a bit more information regarding our platform lifts and why they’re so important.

Platform lifts can be installed in both commercial and domestic buildings. They’re more common in commercial buildings which lack space so you may have seen them before in places like small supermarkets which couldn’t accommodate a standard lift. It’s for this reason that platform lifts are often installed into homes.

Platform lifts are common installations in homes where someone with reduced mobility, either through a disability or accident, resides. They can really be life-changing and give people the freedom to live their life as normally as possible. Platform lifts differ from regular lifts in that they take up less space and they provide enough room to be wheelchair accessible.

Standard platform lift features:

  • Fully glazed doors
  • Soft Start Soft Stop
  • Battery powered emergency backup

Additional platform lift features:

  • Key switch isolation
  • Remote controlled door call points
  • Stainless steel grab rail and door handles
  • Platform autodial
  • Platform audible/Visual annunciation
  • Automatic powered doors
  • Supplementary visual alarm

If you’re interested in one of our platform lift installations then please don’t hesitate to contact us and one of our advisors will be able to help. We can offer bespoke platform lifts if you have some specific requirements so get in touch today.
