Marketing Manager at Sheridan Lifts and chief blogger!

Sheridan Lifts are currently on site doing what we do best in Manchester’s eclectic Chinatown district. After being decimated by a devastating fire back in November 2016, not a great deal of hope was given to this Grade II listed building on Faulkner Street, which directly faces Manchester’s famous Chinatown arch.

The building was completely gutted by the fire with the roof collapsing in, and over 50 firefighters were deployed to extinguish the blaze.

Some three years on though and following a host of building and structural works the building is being given a new lease of life.

Working with our client James West, Sheridan Lifts have installed a dumbwaiter, two disabled platform lifts and a passenger lift as part of a much larger refurbishment project.

As you will see from the photographs, the lifts are all in and we are just waiting for the builders works to commence and make good.

I will then be producing an updated article full of completed images for your perusal.

The building, which was derelict for some years even before the fire, is becoming a development of attractive flats and apartments with a restaurant on the ground floor level.
