Hello everyone, how are you this fine day?

Well, actually it’s not that fine is it? The weather has taken a bit of a turn for the worse, which is a little bit inconvenient but not all that important in the grand scheme of the world. It just makes my office at home a good deal darker!

Here at Sheridan Lifts, of course things are different, but we are operating with a smile on our faces, as best we can under the circumstances. Thankfully, there is light at the end of the tunnel, and as a business we are making our own contingency plans for when our doors do fully re-open.

In some ways, it’s business as usual for all the many active lift maintenance contracts we have in place throughout the UK, where we continue to serve sites that are deemed as critical businesses and are therefore still operational. Our amazing engineers are the lifeblood of our business and to them we owe a great debt of gratitude for their continued hard work, humility and professionalism.

Likewise to all of our team members, each one has a crucial role to play when things do return to some semblance of normality.

So the Government are trying to inject some hope and progress with their latest guidelines.

Certain work sectors in society are re-opening, meaning some of our contracted jobs will be resuming shortly, under the strict guidelines laid out by the Government. Key members of our service staff remain in place at our head office in Manchester and some other team members will continue to work from home as per Government guidelines. New advice points to face coverings being worn in public places.

…You can almost hear the whirr of the sewing machines as people fashion their own face masks up and down the country. I saw a brilliant one the other day where an impromptu mask was fashioned from just a pair of socks and a pair of scissors, ingenious. Suggest said socks are washed before usage though!
