Marketing Manager at Sheridan Lifts and chief blogger!

In order to keep us all happy, motivated and inspired in these challenging times, we thought we’d come up with a musical playlist to be enjoyed at your leisure.

I asked the team here at Sheridan Lifts to come up with some top tunes and have rounded them up for you below.

Sweet Caroline – Neil Diamond
What better opening track for this playlist than this absolute classic from Neil Diamond? Guaranteed to get everyone signing and dancing, the songs speaks of good times never seeming so good. And unlike other uplifting songs that have a darker undertone, this song is just a straight up no frills, feel good love ballad. Turn it up loud!

Happy – Pharrell Williams
This one has become not only a radio favourite but also a modern classic. Upbeat and a real summer tune, Pharrell can turn a miserable room into a smiling one with the press of a button. “Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth”…

When the going gets tough – Billy Ocean
Later to be covered by Boyzone, this Billy Ocean classic is another one for the dance floor, and some serious dad dancing moves! Again the overriding emotion of this track is one of survivalism in the wake of difficult times, and its therefore ideal for our playlist. We’d even accept Ronan and his mates’ version.

Tubthumping – Chumbawamba
We couldn’t leave this one off the list. I mean, there’s no deep and meaningful lyrics here but the chorus of ‘I get knocked down and then I get up again’ is pretty inspirational, and it therefore takes pride of place in the top ten. Even if there is an alcohol theme!

Amarillo – Tony Christie
It has to be, doesn’t it? Is there anyone on the planet that doesn’t like this song? Another absolute 100% singalong feelgood classic, last given airtime by Peter Kay! Sha la la la la la la la!

Don’t stop believin’ – Journey
Another atmospheric ballad with rousing chorus, this one is a great choice to lighten the mood and bring you out of any lull that you might be in! And the message of ‘don’t stop believing’ is a rallying call to anyone and everyone too.

Eye of the tiger – Survivor
Oh yes! Rocky’s theme tune brings themes of fighting against all odds to overcome adversity and it’s this spirit we wanted to capture in our place of work. Just a man and his will to survive, you bet baby!

Girls just wanna have fun – Cyndi Lauper
If Eye of the Tiger is something of a male themed ballad, then our female themed ballad could be this one (although there are loads to choose from). Singing along to this on a Friday after a hard week at work and a nice cold glass of wine? You bet. And I’m not having that men don’t secretly love this tune too!

Livin’ on a prayer – Bon Jovi
We just couldn’t keep JBJ off this list, and it was a close call between this one and ‘It’s my Life’. Air guitars at the ready! We’ve opted for this tune for its inspirational lyrics like “We’ve got each other and that’s a lot for love” – I’m welling up here!

Reet petite – Jackie Wilson
Something of a wildcard, this one is my suggestion. I don’t know why but this song just makes me smile every time I hear it, no matter what mood I’m in, its just incredibly uplifting and funky, probably the funkiest tune on this playlist and for that reason alone, it trumps all other contenders and its positioning at track ten is the ideal send off for the playlist!

Over to you Alexa! If this lot doesn’t make you get up and dance then nothing will!

Did we miss any obvious ones?
