Marketing Manager at Sheridan Lifts and chief blogger!

Here at Sheridan Lifts, continuous education and training is paramount for our engineers, who are the lifeblood of our business. They represent our company every time they are on site, be it in a residents home, on a building site or working with other contractors. With new products entering the market all the time, its vital that they remain sharp with their own knowledge.

Recently we sent five of our engineers to Terry Lifts for one such refresher training course. Here are our guys pictured on site.

The engineers present were Tony, George B, Peter, George W and Anthony. Each received a certificate for their attendance and will carry the knowledge gained from this session to their future work with these types of units.

They all received updated education on Terry lifts which are generally found in our private residences across our housing and council contracts. The training focused around Terry Harmony lifts / Step lifts and Melody 3 service and repair procedures. These are the kind of typical units they encounter pictured below.

During the pandemic, we have continued to operate as a critical business for lift maintenance on existing units, and as such we have held in house training for engineers entering sites with additional health and safety protocols. Our engineers have been amazing through this whole period with many of them carrying out food drops for vulnerable residents.

In terms of ongoing training and support, many of our engineers have been on refresher courses like this one to hone their skills during this period. As they say in the industry – you are never too old or experienced enough to think you can’t learn something new. And with the ever evolving technology of lift industry materials and procedures, training sessions must always keep up with the times.

Thanks to the guys at Terry Lifts for holding this useful training session.
